Why Attend IECC Workshops?

In 2022, Healthy Homes of Louisiana will be partnering with The Louisiana Department of Natural Resources to offer the “Success with 2009 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) for Louisiana Workshop,” providing area builders, contractors, subcontractors and code officials training on recommended practices for optimized energy savings. The workshops will provide:
  • Information to assist in meeting the 2009 IRC chapter 11 Energy Efficiency requirements
  • Course booklet featuring targeted guides for each subcontractor
  • Recommendations on reducing expenses, creating low- to no-cost quality control and increasing customer satisfaction
  • LA State Licensing Board for Contractors CEU opportunity up to 4 hours.
Building code officials and Fire Marshals attend free of charge, and the course qualifies for ICC CEUs. All attendees will receive a free course booklet with detailed illustrations of “do’s and don’ts”. The course is very “hands on” with numerous demonstrations.

The Evolving Energy Code 2009-2021

Louisiana’s House of Representatives unanimously passed H.B. 803 in April, and the State Senate may well follow suit. Assuming that there may soon be a new law requiring the advancement of Louisiana’s Energy Code beyond the current 2009 version, Louisiana will be positioned to possibly receive Half a Billion dollars in federal funding to assist the advancement of the Energy Code.

Robert “Bobby” Parks, owner of Healthy Homes of LA, has over 30 years of experience in manufactured housing, modular homes, residential site built homes and light commercial. Healthy Homes of Louisiana, LLC provides services in specialties that include air conditioning, heating, ventilation (HVAC), condensation control, energy auditing, and building failure analysis with over 3,000 buildings analyzed and documented since 1998. Bobby has been utilized in evaluating and correcting problematic buildings in approximately 30 states.
